Previously: Day 2 – Limbong Art
From Limbong Art, we boarded our buses to the next destination, Keropok Cap Intan. Keropok Cap Intan is situated in the nearby town of Kemaman in the state of Terengganu. Terengganu is so famous for its keropok lekor [fish fritters] and here at Keropok Cap Intan, they sell keropok lekor as well as keropok kering [fish crackers] together with its dipping sauce.
Keropok Cap Intan is one of the famous brands here in Kemaman. During our visit here, I was so lucky as I managed to see the demonstration on how to make a keropok lekor.
Basically, they will mix blended fish together with flour and roll it until it looks like a sausage. After that, the sausage-looked dough will be pre-boiled as in the photo above before being sold to the consumers.
And what I love more about the keropok lekor here in Kemaman is that it has more fish taste as compared to the keropok lekor in Kuala Lumpur, where they use more flour than fish there.
The shop even gave us some samples of keropok lekor and keropok kering to try and the taste was delicious. I miss eating the original keropok lekor. In KL, it is not original anymore. More flour plus soda and just a small chunk, very very small chunk of fish.
Everyone was so hungry, the samples finished in less than a minute after being put on plates. Hahaha.
If you happened to be in Cherating, pay a visit to Keropok Cap Intan in Kemaman, less than 45 minutes away from Cherating, and buy some keropok lekor from them. You won’t regret it. After all, where else to find original keropok lekor if not at its birthplace? 😉
