Have you heard of Escape Room? No? Where have you been all this while? Lol. Escape Room is the latest craze in Malaysia. It is a game that will crack your mind and make you feel so stupid –  or clever – if you managed to escape. But no, this is not a computer game or an app. It is a real life game! With only one outlet in e@curve when it first opened, now it has a lot of branches, one of the latest is at Setiawalk Mall, Puchong.

Yes, we lose. We are losers. Sad, right? But that did not deter us from wanting to try more of Escape Room. To try all the different rooms at the different outlets.

Can you escape?

Escape Room has different themed rooms at the different outlets. Each of the room has different level of difficulties. From 3 ‘stars’ to 5 ‘stars’. During our visit to Escape Room at Setiawalk Mall, we chose [well, basically I chose] Crime Scene: The Homicide Unit. The room has a-4 ‘stars’ difficulty level which I thought “Sure can win one. Four ‘stars’ only meh. Not even 5!

Can you find the clues?

Oh boy, how wrong I was.

After the briefing by the friendly staff, we put our belongings in the free lockers provided. We were then given a small torch light and the staff briefed us on what to do.

Dark, blood, old Chinese song = surreal experience!

For this room, basically here is the storyline told to us by the staff:

You are at a murder scene. A girl was killed and the murderer was at large. You are to find evidence as to who the killer is inside the room. The killer knows you are in the room. You have 45 minutes to escape the room and give us the evidence. If the time lapsed, the killer will find you and kill you in the room“. Or at least it sounded that way to me.

Can you solve the murder case?

So, we were locked in the room and our adventure begun. We were welcomed by a lot of newspaper cuttings and blood splashes everywhere. With creepy music and dark lighting, it felt surreal. It was a challenge to find the clue in order to open up the key to enable us to proceed to the next stage.

Senses challenged here.

We lifted things that could be lifted, we read things that could be read, only to notice that all that were false leads.

Can you escape before the time is up?

Yeah, in Escape Room, we have to think out of the box. Think differently and always remember to check every single thing that had been encountered. In fact, what we thought was the end of the game was not. It was mind boggling.

I still remember, we thought that we almost… almost solve the case. But actually, there were a lot more to it.

Contributors to the Hall of Shame. What a shame!

Escape Room needs teamwork and working mind in order to have our photo on the hall of fame instead of the hall of shame. Yes, guys, even losers will have their photos pasted on the wall at the entrance.

But it was fun! A fun activity to be done with your friends be it on the weekdays or the weekend.

So, what are you waiting for? Challenge your senses today at the Escape Room!

    • Pergilaaa!

Jangan pergi bilik yang seram2, pergi bilik biasa2 je. Serius menguji IQ! Hehehe

    • Hahaha.

You should and I should try too! Because all outlets have different themes, so I think it would be awesome to try all! 😀

      Thanks for the info.

Btw, do you know that there is a new escape game opened up in One City? They are having a real life escape game soon. I forgot the link but I think we can Google up 😉

      • I read about it, but i think the price is too expensive. Few of my friends are going. I will wait for their feedback on that one.

        • Haha. For 45 mins, it is a bit on the high side. But I think the maintenance cost is also high since sometimes, the patrons touched what need not be touched etc. Haha

Let me know of the feedback!
