M Boutique Hotel is one of the ‘hipster’ hotels in Ipoh and together with all the hipster cafes there, they really compliment each other. I have stayed in this hotel once in August 2015. Then, in September 2015, I stayed here for 2 nights with my wife, attending my bestfriend’s wedding.

In both stays, I have stayed in 2 different types of rooms and my review for both stays are the same; this is a luxurious boutique hotel.

The check-in was smooth and the lobby area is nicely and vintagely decorated. There are 2 lifts available for guests, which are nice to have since there are 3 floors in this hotel.

Another plus point is that they provide trolleys, despite having no bellboy to help to bring those to the room. So, I left the trolley outside of the room after I have transferred all my luggages into the room.

The decorations in the room was nicely done. However, the space is quite small and it is quite a hassle if there are small children since there are many fragile items in the room as part of the decorations.

In terms of cleanliness, the hotel is clean. The toilets in the lobby are also clean. Nevertheless, it would be nice if there is a curtain to separate the bathroom from the bed area (there is a type of room where there is no bathroom door) for more privacy.

For breakfast, they give vouchers which can be used in Old Town Signature or the other restaurant. Food is great though choices are limited.

The hotel also has a gym (which is a rarity in a boutique hotel) and self-service laundry (detergent and softener provided for free) which is located in the reading area, equipped with 2 Mac PCs.

Price-wise, it is quite expensive considering the fact that it is a boutique hotel and the size of the room is quite small. However, with great ambience and awesome facilities, it compensates the high price paid.

M Boutique Hotel is a unique stylised boutique hotel in Malaysia situated in the town of Ipoh. There is another M Boutique Hotel at Station 18, Ipoh. The one that I stayed in is at 2, Hala Datuk 5, 31650 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
