Nha Trang is a beach city situated in Central Vietnam. It is the capital city of Khánh Hòa Province and it is famous for its long, curving stretch of beach along Tran Phu Street. I visited Nha Trang with my wife in November 2017 and we had difficulties trying to get halal food in Nha Trang. So, this article will help Muslim travellers to find Halal food in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

1. Omar’s Indian Restaurant  for delicious Halal food in Nha Trang

Omar’s Indian restaurant is one of the places to go to get Halal food in the city. As its name suggest, this restaurant sells mostly Indian food and some Vietnamese food. However, there is no local delicacies such as Pho or Bahn Mi at this restaurant. Choices for local food are limited to fried rice and some noodles. It is situated on the main road i.e Tran Phu Street. Price-wise: it is cheaper than any Halal restaurant in Saigon but more expensive than its local competitors. Nevertheless, the taste is so good.

This restaurant is situated at 96A/8 Trần Phú, Lộc Thọ, Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa 650000, Vietnam.

2. Taj Grill Indian Restaurant

I personally did not go to this restaurant as we could not initially find the restaurant. This restaurant is situated at 54C Nguyễn Thiện Thuật, Lộc Thọ, Thành phố Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa 650000, Vietnam. It is not far from the other two Halal restaurants around this area. I walked around this area on our last night in Nha Trang and I could see the place is full with people. If you are planning to eat at this restaurant, please let me know in the comment section whether it is worth trying!

It is not straightforward to find this restaurant as it is a little bit into a small narrow alley. Nevertheless, their signboard is bright enough, so if you look closely, you can find Taj Grill Indian Restaurant.

3. Ganesh – it is Halal!

Despite its name (Ganesh is a Hindu God), this restaurant is one of the places to get Halal food in Nha Trang. Signage showing its Halal status are everywhere. This restaurant is not very far from Taj Grill. It is quite famous because when I was there, the whole upper floor was fully booked. This restaurant is situated beside the Far East Rock Cafe. I suggest you to try their chicken briyani. The combination of the yogurt and the briyani is superb. However, for the naan, Omar’s is better. The price is cheaper here anyway.

Ganesh is situated at 82 Nguyen Thien Thuat Street, Nguyễn Thiện Thuật, Tân Lập, Tp. Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa 650000, Vietnam.

4. A&M Fresh & Fast Food Restaurant

There are several fast food restaurants in Nha Trang such as Planet Fastfood and Texas Chicken. Nonetheless, they are all non-Halal. Gladly, there is a fast food restaurant that we can try in order to eat Halal food in Nha Trang. We found A&M Fresh & Fast Food restaurant by accident when looking for other Halal places to eat here. It was only on our very last day that we managed to eat at A&M.

The service of the restaurant is quite slow despite its status as a fast food eatery. Still, the food taste good and I recommend any traveller to eat here as one of the alternatives to the Indian restaurants. A&M is located at 1/39 Trần Quang Khải, Lộc Thọ, Thành phố Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa 650000, Vietnam.

Is it easy to get Halal food in Nha Trang?

Nha Trang is a new destination for Malaysians as well as for other Muslim travellers. It is famous among the Chinese and the Russians but not so for travellers coming from other countries. Direct route from Kuala Lumpur to Nha Trang was officiated in September 2017. Therefore, the market for Halal food in Nha Trang is not wide yet. At the moment, these are four established Halal restaurants that can be visited by Muslim travellers to Nha Trang.

  4. sy pon insya Allah nk g nha trang bulan july ni.klu ade info pls bg tau pasal kedai mkn halal kt sne.pasal tempt mlwt menarik n bajet. sy mungkin 3h 2m di sne.sy dpt free stay kt intercon hotel nha trang..tu je….klu kdai mknn laut halal ade ke? dengar kte udang, ketam besar2.

    • Bestnya.. seriously saya sendiri rindu Nha Trang!

      • MAZNAH PILUS Reply

Seriously mereka serve buaya?

  5. Nice sharing sir. I’m worried reading through most of the blogs about difficulty to get halal food. Luckily find urs.. Very helpful. TQ.

  6. Assalam trima kasih atas info nya.
