So, how is the ride on the Gondola?
While we have been on the Langkawi Skycab which definitely is steeper and scarier, the Maokong Gondola feels longer. The whole journey that we took was around 30 minutes from Taipei Zoo to Maokong station.
However, the view going up is astonishing. Along the way, we could see the lush jungles, busy roads with tunnels cutting into the hills and of course, the Taipei 101!
So, if you have the time, we strongly suggest you to ride the Maokong Gondola after your visit to the Taipei Zoo!
Tips if you plan to ride the Gondola
The Maokong Gondola has two types of cabins – the normal cabins and the glass floor cabins. There are no separate tickets for the glass floor cabins, thus the line can be long if you opt to ride the glass floor cabins during the ascending journey.
So, it might be a good idea to just get on the normal cabin during ascending journey and queue for the glass cabin during your descend.
Otherwise, you can be like us. Just ditch the glass cabins and ride on the normal ones. It is much faster and the wait is very short.
