There are many nice cafes for lunch in KL. But there is one place we want to recommend as the place to go for CHEAP and TASTY lunch in Kuala Lumpur

Before Covid-19 comes to Malaysia, my friends and I love to eat out for lunch. There are many nice places that we could go to for lunch, from roadside warung, hotel’s restaurants to cafes. The choices are limitless. One of our favourite places to go is situated in Petaling Street. However, the place is always brimming with patrons. We decided to look for other options when we finally stumbled upon Luckin Kopi, the place to go if you are looking for cheap and tasty lunch in Kuala Lumpur.

Where is Luckin Kopi?

Luckin Kopi is situated on Jalan Panggong, near Petaling Street. This road is full with unique and Instagrammable cafes and it is quite hard to find parking during lunch time. However, if you are driving and you are looking forward to eat here at this cheap and tasty lunch in Kuala Lumpur place, fret not.

Just opposite Luckin Kopi, you can find a huge parking spot that charge you RM 5 for an hour park. On the weekend though, the price doubled to RM 10 for 2 hours. In other words, you can’t choose to park for RM 5 over the weekend. Still, considering that it is in Kuala Lumpur, the price seems fair.

Alternatively, you may want to take the MRT Kajang Line and disembark at Pasar Seni station, at Entrance A. From there, it is just a short walk away. Here’s the map to Luckin Kopi to make it easier for you to navigate to this cheap and tasty lunch in Kuala Lumpur place:

What’s best about this cheap and tasty lunch in Kuala Lumpur cafe i.e. Luckin Kopi?

There are several reasons why Luckin Kopi is one of the best places for you to get a cheap and tasty lunch in Kuala Lumpur. Let us share with you the reasons why:

1. It is situated in a pre-war shophouse

While most cafes in Kuala Lumpur are established in newer shophouses, Luckin Kopi is located inside a pre-war shophouse that has been refurbished. Although refurbished, you can still see the original bricks used to construct the building and the bare ceiling design gives Luckin Kopi an extra aesthetic look.

2. A cheap and tasty lunch in Kuala Lumpur at Luckin Kopi!

Another reason is the affordability of eating at this cafe. Its price is very reasonable that my friends and I were very surprised when we looked at the menu for the first time. Imagine noodles and rice dishes for less than RM 10 at such cafes! No, you will not get this great deal elsewhere in Kuala Lumpur, trust me. Plus, the food are all tasty, so you will be spoiled for choices when you eat here.

3. Physical distancing in place during Covid-19

Let me be honest with you. Pre-Covid, Luckin Kopi is full with people during lunch time. The tables and chairs are arranged so close to one another. However, throughout this pandemic period, they properly observe the SOPs and they limit the tables and chairs for dine-in patrons. Thus, you can get a cheap and tasty lunch in Kuala Lumpur while at the same time, being safety first at that.

4. Fast service at this cheap and tasty lunch in Kuala Lumpur place

Next is the service itself. No matter how many patrons at Luckin Kopi, the service is fast. You will not be kept waiting for your food and drinks even during lunch time. That is why we LOVE to have our lunch at Luckin Kopi.

5. Great coffee!

Well, it is after all a coffee shop so you must try their coffee of course. The Kopi O Kosong is my favourite because I do not take my coffee with sugar. This way, I can really taste the original flavour of the coffee and let me tell you, they are STRONG! Another interesting offering at Luckin Kopi is the 3-states coffee where they serve you with three small cups of coffee from Ipoh, Melaka and KL together with some biscuits. You can surely taste the distinct flavour of the coffee from the different states.

This is a must-try for coffee lovers. The 3-states coffee!

Our verdict of Luckin Kopi

Luckin Kopi will always be our favourite place to go for a cheap and tasty lunch in Kuala Lumpur. Although you might have to wait for your turn to dine-in, it is worth the wait. Apart from that, the backlanes of Luckin Kopi is also a nice place to take some photos after you have done with you gastronomy adventure. This is not a sponsored post in any way and this is my honest review of Luckin Kopi. Go try it if you are in Kuala Lumpur!
