Boutique hotels are aplenty in Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown. But if you are looking for a cozy hotel in Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur, there is one hotel that we suggest you to try
Petaling Street or as most people called: the Chinatown. Chinatown is famous for its walking market. Here, traders sell cheap souvenirs and knock-off branded items. There are a lot of accommodation options at Chinatown. However, it is normally confined to budget or boutique hotels. Recently, the Klang Valley area experienced water disruption. Since we were so desperate to find a place with water source, we decided to stay one night at Four Points by Sheraton hotel. Our say? It is definitely a cozy hotel in Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur.
Where is Four Points by Sheraton?
Four Points by Sheraton is located on Jalan Balai Polis, near Petaling Street. It is within walking distance to the entrance of Petaling Street. Remember our previous post on Luckin Kopi? The hotel is situated along the same road, where all the kopitiams and hispter cafes lying around.
It is also close to Pasar Seni MRT and LRT stations. So, from the hotel, it is easy to get to other destinations in the City Centre.
Is Four Points by Sheraton a cozy hotel in Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur?
From the exterior, Four Points by Sheraton already looks amazing with its bare bricks design. Before our stay, we did not have any expectation on how it will look like on the inside. We were surprised as soon as we entered into its reception area. Exposed raw bricks, warm wood and traditional jade-hued tiles adorn the interior design of the reception area. Although the size is small, it has the traditional vibes of its surrounding areas coupled with breathtaking views of the city.
Upon checking-in, we went straight to our room and again, we were surprised with how cozy this hotel is. Four Points by Sheraton is really a cozy hotel in Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur. The room itself is huge and comes with all amenities usually found in hotels. Since Covid-19 is still luring around, the hotel also provides 2 small bottles of hand sanitizers for its guests.
How about the view from the room?
Most hotels in Malaysia have the view of the Twin Towers as its selling point. However, from our room, we got a different view. It is refreshing since we have not seen this view from our other stays in hotels in Kuala Lumpur.
From our room, we were presented with the view of Kuala Lumpur, specifically the historical Stadium Merdeka area, where Malaysia’s independence was announced in 1957. Both of us have never seen Stadium Merdeka up close and this is as close as we get to seeing the historical stadium. Just beside the stadium, the soon-to-be tallest tower in Malaysia is being built. We can foresee that the PNB 118 will be the selling point for Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur in the near future.
Plus points of Four Points by Sheraton, the cozy hotel in Chinatown, Kuala Lumpur
Apart from the room, other plus points for this hotel includes:
- Friendly staff
- Amazing pool on the reception floor (which we did not try)
- Access to tourist areas and public transportation
- Access to great local food
- Amazing design
We really recommend those who are looking for a stay near the Chinatown area to try the Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur. With easy access to all the hipster cafes and local kopitiams, this will be a great place for you to stay at before starting your journey to explore Kuala Lumpur.
